ClearFile exists because Bahamian businesses deserve software built around their tax law — not a generic accounting tool with The Bahamas as an afterthought.
The story
Most accounting software wasn't built for The Bahamas. Generic tools treat our VAT system, our NIB filings, and our Business Licence return as edge cases — bolted on by configuration, never understood by design.
That gap shows up at the worst times. The April 2025 reduced-rate additions for food, diapers, hygiene products, and medications. The zero-rated–versus-exempt distinction that determines whether your input VAT is recoverable. The 21st-of-the-month deadline that doesn't move for any reason.
ClearFile is built around those rules from the first line of code. Every rate, threshold, and penalty figure lives in a versioned database — not hardcoded — so when the law changes, the platform changes with it. And every classification decision you make is logged, with reason and rules-version reference, so your records hold up to any review.
